Weather Situation

A low pressure trough over the Tasman Sea maintains fresh to locally strong south to southwesterly winds for the northern coastal waters. Winds are gradually turning northwesterly today ahead of a cold front approaching from the west, then the passage of the front on Wednesday will bring strong to gale force west to southwesterly winds in the wake, particularly over the southern coastal waters. Winds will remain fresh to strong south to southwesterly through the second half of the week as the front moves to the Tasman Sea and deepens to a complex low pressure system.
