A high [1030 hPa] centred over southeast Australia extends a ridge of high pressure over the south Queensland waters. The ridge will persist through the week as the high slowly drifts northeast into the Tasman Sea, weakening a little from Friday as a trough moves eastwards across southern Queensland.
