A high pressure system entering the Tasman sea remains for the next few days while a Low pressure system and cold front develops and approaches Tasmania. The cold front is expected to cross Tasmania Thursday afternoon or evening, with the Low centre likely to pass to the south of the state on Friday. A large High pressure system builds over the mainland on Saturday, extending a weak ridge over Tasmania.
